After some of the talk already circulating about Green Day getting a full-sized track pack expansion to Rock Band (with most of it talking smack about the band) I figured I’d chip in my 2 cents about my take on these style of games and how they should be sold.Rock Band Unplugged have nailed this one the best, well at least the PSP Go downloadable version has anyway. Just have all the songs as DLC and sell the software disk with a PSN card, MS Points or Wii Points and that way you can choose what tracks you want to have from there. If you want real band avatars and gigs or whatever else, and they’re made, spend points on them too and just tailor the game to suit your needs. Realistically all the disc should have on it anyway is the code for the menus, the netcode for online, and how the note charts and vocals actually work. Sell it with a redeem code that’ll grant ~45 songs of your choosing from the store and hey presto, no more complaints about having songs on the disc that you’ll never play! You can have the game as easy or as hard as you want it after that depending on what songs you choose.
