And well, as you can see, I’ve got mine already! The 2010 Finn Harps jerseys and other memorabilia went on sale today over at the Balor Arts Centre in Ballybofey, and I have to say, I am loving this new kit!
The Harps have moved to Azzurri this year following their previous 2 seasons with Masita Sportswear, and most notably, they’ve also elected to lead out this season with white being the home kit this year, as opposed to the traditional blue, which will now be used in away games. It bears 2 (?) advertisements for Donegal Creameries on the front, – don’t ask me what sort of logic was behind that – ads for the local Earagail Arts Festival on either arm, along with the League of Ireland logo on the arms too, and with an ad for www.shopdonegal.net across the back.
In other related Finn Harps news, today also seen the unveiling of homecoming King – and Judas for a few seasons – Kevin McHugh, as well as the return of Anthony Gorman to the club, in an assistant manager’s role to current gaffer James Gallagher.
UPDATE: I should also add that the away shirt is simply the same as the home, with the blue and white on the main design flipped.
UPDATE 2: It’s been brought to my attention that the above website, http://www.shopdonegal.net, doesn’t actually exist. Which is a shame. While I agree with the sentiment that we in Donegal should shop locally to help our own economy instead of border-hopping to save money, doing so with a fake URL is very, very bad. So bad that I’m the second-listed Google search for the site address. So please, if you really want people to shop locally, just tell them, don’t point them to a non-existent web address and have them re-routed here.
